One of the key strategies for the 2007 Downtown Area Plan (DAP), a vision document guiding Downtown development for the next 20 years, is to have a socially and economically diverse city. A Taste of Colorado
Colorado's annual end-of-summer community celebration, Festival of Mountain and Plain. A Taste of Colorado, is held in Downtown Denver's Civic Center Park over the Labor Day weekend.

For 32 years this Holiday Parade has dazzled spectators and warmed hearts.
Grand Illumination
Every holiday season, the Downtown Denver Grand Illumination Lighting Event will light up the city from Union Station to Larimer Square, from Skyline Park to the Denver Pavilions and culminating at the City and County Building.
An exciting fireworks program on the 16th Street Mall will help ring in the New Year in explosive style. Bring the family down for the 9:00 p.m. early firework show.

Getting into and around Downtown is easy with plenty of parking and lots of bus routes and light rail lines that go directly into Downtown. Whether you take transit, ride your bike, walk or drive into Downtown, the convenient and free 16th Street Mall Shuttle can take you and the kids to a variety of attractions up and down the 16th Street Mall. And remember, kids love taking the train or riding the bus into Downtown!
