Using transit to get into Downtown Denver and throughout the metro area is easy. Run by the Regional Transportation District (RTD), the light rail system offers 35 miles of track and 6 lines to take you to destinations in Downtown Denver, LoDo, Five Points, Araphaoe Square, the Central Platte Valley, Auraria and beyond. If light rail doesn't take you where you need to go, nearly 60 RTD bus routes head into Downtown Denver and many stop at or near the three major RTD stations along the 16th Street Mall: Civic Center Station, Market Street Station, and Union Station. Fares for light rail and bus service range from $2.00 to $4.50 and are completely transferable.

Bus System
Downtown is the hub of RTD's regional bus system, serving commuters and visitors from all parts of the seven-county Denver metro region. Nearly 60 buses are routed into and through Downtown Denver and many stop at or near the three major RTD stations positioned along the 16th Street Mall: Union Station, Market Street Station and Civic Center Station. Once Downtown, commuters and visitors can ride the free 16th Street Mall Shuttle. Running the length of the 16th Street Mall, the shuttle runs at frequent intervals offering convenient connections to all parts of Downtown from Union Station and LoDo to the Denver Pavilions and Civic Center. The shuttle also connects to the three major transit stations in Downtown: Union Station, Market Street Station, and Civic Center Station, as well as all light rail lines.
